First of all, let's just take a deep breath....BECAUSE THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG RIDE.

Titu (Sunny Nijar) and Sonu (Kartik Aaryan) are bros. As in EVERY PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA FILM, the girl friend is a controlling piece of shit who doesn't care about the guy, and now, it's the bff's duty to free him of the chudail. The movie starts off (CAREFUL IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS!! :) ) with Titu being saved from his mean girlfriend by Sonu, with an ultimatum - 'Ya toh woh, ya toh main.' Obviously, the next scene is super dramatic to show what a yaar-bro-dudester bond these two have. The movie progresses as we are introduced the Titu's family - the chief member and eyeball-grabber of which is Gabru Aloknath. Yep, that's right - Alok Nath dons a new avatar, of a cool/ drinking/ punjabi grandfather.

What happened, man? You went full 360 degrees after Vivaah?
Anyway, back on track - Titu decides to go for arranged marriage, and finds a seemingly perfect bride. Sonu thinks otherwise - and after a long, LONG sequence of honeymoon shots and unnecessary item songs, she turns out to be a daily-soap dayan in the making. Now, it falls upon Sonu to make his friend (who never seems to notice the long shots and the evil background music for his fiance) aware of the truth. Will he succeed? More importantly, will we care?
The songs, as we all know by now, are excellent. Almost every one of them is a hit, being played at every club in the country. Subah Subah and Dil Chori especially, are party songs through and through. Arijit Singh's alluring voice and Yo Yo Honey Singh's beats are accompaniment that you need to sit through the movie.
The dialogues are unnecessarily trying to make them sound epic or impactful. It starts resembling a daily-soap quite quickly, with saturated colors on the screen, an actual DAYAN background track for Sweety and ridiculously rich mansions. The humour, unlike most comedy films right now, is not offensive or cruel. It settles in well enough, but can get a bit boring. That is unless you aren't amused by the beeped ch***** now and then. (To watch Alok Nath say it is a special treat)
All in all, it is an okay watch, not quite worth the hype, but good enough for a Friday night after a tiring work day.
